It is based of the 2020 US census and the result of redistricting done every 10 years. Districts were approved by the city commission on 11/15/21.</SPAN></P><P><SPAN STYLE="font-weight:bold;">Intended Use</SPAN><SPAN>: Currently used as reference on web maps and applications. </SPAN></P><P><SPAN STYLE="font-weight:bold;">Department: </SPAN><SPAN>Mayors Office, Planning, All City Departments</SPAN></P><P><SPAN STYLE="font-weight:bold;">Data Source: </SPAN><SPAN>Land data set</SPAN></P><P><SPAN STYLE="font-weight:bold;">How was the Data Manipulated</SPAN><SPAN>: City of West Palm Beach Commission District boundaries are based on 2020 census population counts.</SPAN></P><P><SPAN STYLE="font-weight:bold;">How the Data is Modified</SPAN><SPAN>: Edits to layer are due to a new commissioner (attribute update) or to annexation (spatial adjustment) as-needed the layer will be edited by GIS team members.</SPAN></P><P><SPAN STYLE="font-weight:bold;">Update Frequency</SPAN><SPAN>: As-Needed and new information provided by Planning or GIS supervisors</SPAN></P><P><SPAN STYLE="font-weight:bold;">Notes</SPAN><SPAN>: Every ten years the districts can be re balanced to reflect population changes. Census block populations are used to determine the total population in each commission district with the goal of trying to obtain an equal population (within 10 %) representation in each district.</SPAN></P></DIV></DIV></DIV>
